Adjectives are words that we use to describe a noun (a person, place or thing). Words like big, pretty, happy, wonderful, blue, and short are all adjectives.

This is a photo of a big, fat, upside-down, calico cat with green eyes! Big, fat, upside-down and calico are all adjectives because they describe the cat and green is an adjective that describes the color of the cat's eyes.
